Das Entwicklerstudio Obsidian ist bekannt für namhafte Rollenspiele wie Neverwinter Nights 2 und Knights of the Old Republic 2. Seit 2006 arbeitete man im Auftrag von Sega an einem RPG zur bekannten SciFi-Horror-Reihe Aliens, doch erscheinen wird dieses Rollenspiel wohl nie, wie ein Sprecher von Sega nun offiziell bestätigt hat:

At this point, Sega has no plans to move forward with the Aliens RPG. We plan to continue working with the Aliens franchise and ask fans to be patient and stay tuned for more information about what SEGA has coming out for the Aliens series of games, starting with the upcoming Alien vs. Predator game.
Man konzentriert sich also lieber auf den den neuen Titel der Action-Reihe Alien vs. Predator, welches 2010 erscheinen soll.
