「地獄門」を見つけ出し、これの調査
に当たって欲しいとの事であった。
早速、鷲塚は調査を始めた。

Substory
The secret mission was over, Washiduka returned safely
to the Mibu Police Station.  He received a new secret
order.  It seems like the stupefaction of feudal system of
the shogunate, it is caused by a place called [Hell's Gate].
Consequently, Washiduka's mission is the find this [Hell's

なだけ人を斬らせてやろう…。」そ
う言って男は闇の中へ消えた。紫鏡
は、ただニヤリと笑っていた。

in this era.  The enrichment of risking one's life...  It is
already known how it feels even by killing general people.
For Shikyou, he needed something bigger, and now was the
perfect opportunity.  "Even more...  Even more powerful beings...
I want to kill them..."  That is what Shikyou's heart exclaimed.
Just at the same time, a mysterious man's voice could be heard.

がしたかと思うと、スパーン！と後

みして立っている。「地獄門の調査
や！旅や！はよ支度しいや！グズグ
ズしてると置いてくで！！」一方的に
まくしたてると、アッと言う間に走
り去った。足音が聞こえなくなって
数秒、十三は億劫そうに腰を上げた。
「地獄門の調査…か。これまた疲れ
る旅になりそうや」あかりのお転婆
ぶりに、出発前から先が思いやられ
るのだった。

Substory
Juuzou was sitting in his own room, with more spare time than
he knew what to do with.  He didn't even pay to stay at the
Ichijou residence.  He thought he heard the sound of some
footsteps, then he felt the shock of someone hitting him on the
back of the head.  When he turned around he saw Akari standing
there with her arms folded.  "We're going to investigate the
Hell's Gate!  Time to travel!  Now hurry and get prepared! If
you are slow, I'll leave you behind!"  After that one sided
conversation, in the blink of the eye, she was gone.  A few
seconds past before the sounds of the footsteps were gone.
Juuzou looked troubled when he had to get up.  "So, the
investigation of Hell's Gate, huh...  This looks to be another
one of those tiresome travels"  Before departing, he thought
about the tomboy nature of Akari.

サブストーリー
一条家は守護役のオブザーバー的
存在である。ある日あかりの父は地
獄門の異変を察知した。父の部屋に
呼ばれたあかりは、その調査を命じ
られる。「ホンマ？よっしゃ、ウチ
に任しとき！」くれぐれも調査だけ
だという父の言葉も上の空に、あか
りは早くも元凶退治の筋書きを考え
ていた。

Substory
Her existence is that of the observer and defender of the
Ichijou Family.  One day, her father sensed the disaster of
the Hell's Gate.  Akari was called to her father's room, and
he ordered her to investigate that place.  "Really?  All right,
leave it me!"  Although he repeatedly said only an investigation,
he still looked up into the sky, and thought about how Akari
could have an outline of exterminating the source of evil.

サブストーリー
「この世に拙に勝るものはおらぬ。
いてはならぬ」闇に溶け込む影は呟
いた。足元に転がる男の死骸。愚か
にも最強を名乗っていた剣士も、彼
の術の前では赤子同然である。２本
の小刀から鮮血が滴り落ちた。「だ
が…これでは最強の証にはならぬ…」
この剣士程度の腕では勝負にすらな
らない。すなわち「虐殺」である。
「どこぞに強者はいないものか…」
ある日、「魔人」を見たという噂を耳
にした斬鉄は、その魔人を倒してこ
そ最強を確信できると考えた。

Substory
"In this world, nothing outrivals unskillness.  I can't be here."
The shadow melts into darkness as he mutters those words.  There
are corpses of men that roll about at his feet.  Those foolish
swordsmen, who called themselves the strongest, where no match for
his technique.  In fact, they seemed like babies in front of him.
Fresh blood dripped from the two short swords.  "However... This
will not show the proof of the strongest..."  Swordsmen of that
degree of ability would not be even considered a fight.  In other
words, that is just atrocity, and [massive killing].  "Is there
any strong opponents out there?"  Then one day, Zantetsu heard of
the rumor of the [devil].  He thought for sure if he defeated this
devil, it would prove his confidence as him being the strongest.
